Hi, I'm Gail, the creator behind this brand. Originally from the UK, I now live in beautiful Barbados, where the ocean and natural world provide endless inspiration for my work. Living close to the sea, I often find peace in the rhythm of the waves, while my beloved cats are a constant source of comfort and companionship.
Through this brand, I combine creativity with a deep commitment to animal advocacy. I am a children's author, host of a radio series that promotes animal welfare, and editor-in-chief of Animal Talk Magazine (Barbados). I also host the YouTube podcast Gail Jewel's Animal Hub, where I explore fascinating conversations with animal welfare advocates, conservationists, and wildlife experts from around the world.
My designs are unique, imaginative, and thought-provoking. Whether it's a rhino floating in a hot air balloon or a whale soaring through the clouds, each tote tells a story. Through whimsical artwork and creative storytelling, my designs celebrate wildlife while encouraging meaningful conversations about conservation and our connection to the natural world.
In terms of other personal achievements. One of my proudest achievements has been working with the Phoenix Performers, a talented group of adults with disabilities. As their writer and director, I have witnessed first-hand the power of creativity to inspire confidence, foster inclusion, and bring people together.
I was honoured to receive the Barbados National Cultural Foundation Environmental Award for a play highlighting the importance of protecting the habitat of the Barbados Green Monkey. I was also deeply humbled to receive the Prime Minister's Certificate of Achievement for another production created with the group.
